This is a two-story floating house & Sternwheeler belonging to the owners of the marina. It’s pre-fab, brought in on the river by the Vernon C Ledbetter paddle wheel workboat. They live 100 miles from here, not here.
Overkill? I think so.
Yesterday was a busy day for us. We sat, walked Bob, swam Bob, picked up 3 bags of ice, walked again, talked to Gary & Marilyn, ate Sun Chips & red pepper hummus, walked, then had to sit & rest after all that excitement. We’re pretty worn out. Today we have to rest more.
Right now, we’re thinking of heading back down river tomorrow, maybe. If we do, we might go all the way home or stop somewhere around half way. We’re not sure, but thinking really hard about it.
So far today, we’ve had breakfast, discussed the meaning of “quahog”, & talked about the advantages of having our own pet whale.
Yesterday was over 90 degrees, today is going to be about 85. Sunny, shaping up to be another nice day. Riverfest is sometime today or tonight. Supposed to have several bands. Sweet.
Bob in his happy place
Well, the neighborhood is getting busy. Our next door neighbors came down from Pittsburgh this morning for the weekend. Their 1979 houseboat is quite the fixer-upper. They come down every weekend to work on her. They have a lot of weekends yet to go, but at least she’s a runner!
Prince Of Tides is here now, too. She’s a 1966 something or other. Classic boat, I like the crank out, non tinted windows!
Our new Marina-mates gave us a gift! Nothing says “Welcome to the Marina” like a roll of toilet paper. Apparently it’s a pretty hot commodity (restrooms are always out) & they didn’t think we had a head!
It was very thoughtful.
Found out there’s Wi-Fi here, thought I’d use my laptop. We asked Gary for the password & he said “I can give it to you, but if I tell you, I”ll have to kill you!!”
Right away, Randy told him, “TELL HER, Quick!!”
